About Nicole

Dr. Nicole Goldin provides bespoke 'glocal' (global and local) strategy, research, evaluation and analysis, impact, policy planning, partnership, and program advice through her private practice NRG Advisory. She is a well-known expert on youth, cities, and economic growth. She is elected Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in the Government of the District of Columbia.  She also is consulting lead economist, strategy and policy advisor to the World Bank, adjunct professor at George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs, and non-resident senior fellow with the Atlantic Council. She is an in-demand speaker, and her insights have been featured by CNN, The Economist, The Huffington Post, SSIR, The Guardian, Devex, Diplomatic Courier, U.S. News, Voice of America, WTOP and other fora. She holds a PhD in economics, and masters degrees in development and international affairs.

Nicole served in senior positions in the Obama Administration at the State Department and USAID, spearheading youth issues and playing a key role on conflict minerals and forced labor, economic growth, gender, famine and urbanization among other policy and public engagement initiatives worldwide. Her career has included managing education, growth and institutional development, conflict recovery and emerging markets, democracy and governance, as well as financial investment services and private sector social initiatives. She has been engaged by and led collaborations with organizations such as the United Nations, Hilton, Ford Foundation, Clinton Global Initiative, Building Markets (Peace Dividend Trust), Gerson Lehrman Group, Chemonics, IYF and IFES. She has been in 70+ countries on all seven continents, and is proficient in French. A supporter of social enterprise, Nicole is on the Board of Educate! and is advisor to She's the First, and serves on Upwardly Global's Leadership Council.
